Hey Family,
Got the First week behind me... so relieving but this week has been amazing my companion is from St. george his name is Elder allred.. he and i are already really close we have the same interest and quit the same personality.. he is going to sacremento hmong speeking. there are also two other elders speaking hmong, elder cox from manti is going to roseville cali hmong, Elder Snyder is from new hampshire and he also is going to roseville im the only one going to minn... thats okay though the first day we dropped my luggage off to my dorm and then went straight to class and got all my books, i walk in and boom all i hear for the next three hours is hmong I had somewhat of a understanding of him but mostly not.... then we went to the orentation and then a gospel class... the spirit is so strong here in the mtc and is so uplifting.. the crazy thing is is that they have you so dang busy that you have no time to think about home. The third day we were here they put us in and had us teach this kid from Thailand that speaks hmong which was so crazy cause we had hardly any idea about the language and he didn't know english....the lesson it was filled with ALOT OF AKWARD SILENCE ha ha but we got through it we have taught him every day since. Me and my compainion got him to pray he belives in shamanism and has no idea what god is and jesus christ.. we taught him the steps of pray our third time teaching him and he prayed after that which was really awsome.. our next dicussion with him will be about the book of mormon.. oh and our investiagtors name is vwj voj (vue Va) he is about 20 and has lived in america for 3 months now to go to college.
The food here is pretty good not the best i have had wink wink i wished grandma was here cooking for me:) but besides that its due able the hardest part of it all is waking up and going to bed early ha ha not my style.. at the end of each day my mind is so exaughsted about 5 hours total of language study and than other times teaching and learning the gospel so its allot to take in each day. i have learned allot about myself this past week and am not that shy kid any more.. there is an elder weidner that lives right next to our room he is going to san Diago english speaking me and him have gotten really close to.. my whole zone is cool its us hmong elders and 2 vietmanese speaking elders.. they are really awesom to there form orem and ogden. than our district is big there are english speaking elders and us hmong and vietmaness speaking elders and about 15 cambodian speaking elders.. our branch president is pres. seamons form provo good guy..
i have had so many great experiences already on my mission its awsome.. i dont think i have ever prayed as much in one week than i would ever have ha ha.
we have that nurf basketball hoop in our room and its always fun to play that with the hmong elders that room with me.. and of course i always win ha ha its so funny cause everyone saw a picture of sydney and our so so jelous cause how beautiful she is and im just like well thanks... but im not home sick yet............. yet? but everything has been so great and everyone here is so nice..
